High School Schedules

The high school operates on a 4x4 block schedule.  Students will be scheduled for 4 classes from August through December and 4 different classes from January through May (8 classes total for the year).  In high school, students must pass a class to earn a credit, and in order to graduate from Catoosa County Public Schools, students must earn 28 credits.   Freshmen must pass at least 6 of 8 classes to be considered a sophomore.  Those who do not earn at least 6 credits will be retained.

Class Options

All freshmen will be scheduled for math, English, science, social studies, and From Here to Career (a required elective course designed for students as a gateway to high school that will explore aptitudes, possible career paths, and employability skills). Another graduation requirement, health/PE, is scheduled for all students.  That will leave two elective choices for students to choose.  Be thinking about what you might be interested in prior to your appointment.  Below is a list of potential elective pathways that you may consider:

Art, Band, Agricultural Science, Architectural Drawing and Design, Business and Technology, Chorus, Construction, Culinary Arts, Drama and Musical Theater, Early Childhood Education, Engineering and Graphics and Design, Healthcare Science, Journalism, JROTC, Marketing and Management, Physical Education (Weight Training and Team Sports), and Web and Digital Design.

COA Health/PE

COA health and PE will no longer be offered during the summer months, but students who are involved in band, JROTC, or athletic activities during the school year may be eligible to take health/PE as an extra online class during the semester of the activity through our COA (Catoosa Online Academy) at no charge.  If you are interested in adding this online course to one of your semester schedules as an extra course (you will be responsible for completing this additional course after school hours), please let your advisor know when you come to your registration appointment.  Students who take 3 JROTC courses will fulfill health and PE requirements.   If you have questions or need additional information, please reach out to the freshman counselor, Mrs. Natola @ [email protected].
