Policies Plans & Documents

Lakeview Middle School has a plan that describes how we will provide opportunities to improve parent and family engagement in order to support student learning. LMS values the contributions and involvement of all parents and family members in establishing an equal partnership to achieve the goal of improving student achievement.

The documents below outline the ways LMS will implement our Title I program. All students participating in the Title I, Part A program, and their families are encouraged and invited to fully participate in the opportunities provided. Family and community feedback and input are sought throughout the year in regard to the policies, budget, plan, and program.

All policies and handouts are available in the Parent Resource Room and can be sent home upon request. Contact your Family Engagement Coordinator to request any Title I handouts.

LMS parents also have the right to request a meeting at LMS at any time.

  • What is the Parent Right-to-Know Letter?

    Under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), parents are to be notified that they have the right to request and receive information on the professional qualifications of their child's classroom teacher(s) and paraprofessional(s).

  • The LMS Parent & Family Engagement Policy is jointly developed, with all families, as a written plan that describes how LMS will provide opportunities to improve parent and family engagement to support student learning, and how families can help plan and participate in activities and events to promote student learning at home and at school.


    Our Policy is updated annually based on parent and community feedback provided throughout the year.  The revised school Policy is approved each year at our Title I Spring PAC meeting.

    The Catoosa County Public School District develops a District Title I Parent & Family Engagement Policy that describes expectations and objectives for family engagement and guides the activities and resources that strengthen school, parent, and community partnerships in our district's Title I schools. All parents are invited to participate and provide suggestions and ideas to improve the District Policy throughout the year. The District Policy is annually reviewed, discussed, and approved at each school's Spring Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meeting.

  • How are Title I funds determined and spent?

    Title I funding is based upon the percentage of students participating in the free and reduced-price lunch program. Title I funds can be used for additional personnel, technology, and various teaching resources. We welcome parent input regarding decisions on how Title I funds are spent. Please contact your Principal or Parent Involvement Coordinator with any budget input, questions, or concerns.

    What is a Family-School Compact?

    As part of our Title I plan, Lakeview Middle School jointly develops, through meaningful consultation with parents, a school-family compact that outlines how families and our school will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership to help children achieve the state’s high standards. The school-wide compact stresses the importance of communication between families and teachers. LMS families are given the opportunity to provide compact input through meaningful consultation with school staff throughout the school year. Parents have the opportunity to review and adjust the compact at Parent Advisory Council meetings. Family-School Compacts should be used at home and at school in parent-teacher conferences.

    How can I provide feedback on our school’s Family-School Compact?

    Parents are encouraged to be involved in the development and revision of the Title I programs, including the policy, compact and/or schoolwide plan. If you find any portion of this program unsatisfactory, submit your comments or suggestions to Gina Haynes, Catoosa County Title I Coordinator, at 706-965-2297.

     

     

  • What is a Schoolwide Improvement Plan?

    Each year a new Schoolwide Improvement Plan (SIP) is developed as a strategic blueprint that our school uses to enhance student learning and educational practices. This plan highlights goals for improvement, actions to achieve those goals, and methods for measuring progress. Please review the SIP below and send any input regarding this plan to the Principal or the Family Engagement Coordinator.
